ATC Real Time Simulator and Airspace Designer

SAL Consultants, together with JLG uses a proprietary software toolkit, which enables the two companies to provide airspace investigations, HMI rapid prototyping and real time simulation.

ISO/IEC 12207 has been used by SAL Consultants Ltd and JLG to develop its software products and is recognised by EUROCONTROL as reflecting the best practices for all the processes and activities of a robust ANS Software lifecycle (Ref: EATMP SAF.ET1.ST03.1000-REP-00-02). The RDP interface and HMI interface of ATCSimPRO© can be integrated in operational ATM environment and therefore has been developed by SAL Consultants Ltd and JLG as a Safety Critical software application.

The simulator has been successfully installed for a customer within their required timescale of three months from contract signature.

Included in the installation was the control room design study in three dimensions to ensure that the customer was satisfied with the proposed layout.

The consoles were specially designed to blend in with the office furniture already chosen, the colour of the ATC consoles being exactly matched.

The radar screen demonstrating our unique windowing system where windows are translucent, permitting a view of traffic underneath, but also permitting a direct addressing of data underlying the window. Notice that the airspace and the weather returns (Small yellow squares) are also translucent. The translucent weather function has already been commercially introduced into service using a different methodology. The translucency can be modified by the controller according to preference.
